Four of the Most Popular Attractions in Florida

Florida is one the top destinations in the United States for a great family vacation, or even a honeymoon or romantic getaway with your beloved. However, the state has so much to offer that people sometimes have a difficult time narrowing down what they should do on their next trip south.
To help make it easier for you to plan your next great adventure to Florida, continue reading for four of the most popular attractions found throughout the state.

The Southernmost Point in Key West
Key West is the westernmost of all of the Florida Keys, which are a chain of islands known for their tranquility, beauty and gorgeous turquoise waters. While you are there, you can also visit the southernmost point in the country, famously known as Mile 0. Fly down or take the ride from the mainland and see the views as you pass through each small island on your way to Key West. Once there, visit Duval Street, which is lined with shops, bars, and restaurants, along with unique architecture and friendly locals. Once you get to the waterfront, you can stand and watch the sun go down for a nightly celebration that crowds gather for. Keep an eye out for the world famous wild roosters and chickens that hang out there as well.

Fort Lauderdale: A Great Alternative to Miami:
If you want to head to southeast Florida and enjoy the tropical weather and beautiful beaches but you would rather steer clear of the hectic city of Miami, go to Fort Lauderdale instead. Less than one hour north of South Beach, Fort Lauderdale Beach along A1A is famous and was once the perfect spot for spring breakers. Today, it is a great location for young couples and families who want to play in the waves, catch some rays, and try out great bars and restaurants along the beachfront avenue.
Everglades National Park:
Florida has a beautiful terrain and a huge variety of species of wild reptiles, birds, and mammals, many of which can be enjoyed at Everglades National Park. Ride an airboat to get close to native dolphins and alligators for a truly thrilling experience. This is considered the largest area of subtropical wilderness in the country. Head out during the dry season, when the area dries up for the most part, and be sure to enjoy some kayaking, hiking, camping, or biking.
The Many Theme Parks of Orlando

Orlando is full of amusement parks that the entire family will love. Check out Universal Studios to feel like you are a part of all of your favorite movies. Or head over to Disney's Magic Kingdom to meet all of your favorite Disney characters and ride all of the classic rides that you loved as a child and now want to share with your children. Then visit Epcot and Disney's Animal Kingdom, where you can hop on a safari ride that will let you see some of Africa's most incredible animals up close as they roam freely.

Hayley Finn is a freelance travel writer who enjoys seeing everything that the United States has to offer; Florida is one of her favorite places to go on a regular basis. Whenever she is staying in Orlando, she makes it a point to find the best resorts in Walt Disney World.
