If you're stressed at your work it's time to relax and enjoy on Mackinac Island.Pack-up or just go for a day and you would feel relax and enjoy. We went there for a day and had no plan to sleep since our cottage is just a couple hour of driving.
We decided to got up early and drove all the way to the port where we bought a ticket for the ferry going to the island.

About Mackinac Island:
- is considered as National Historic Landmark.
- Motorized vehicles is not allowed on the island since 1898.
- The only thing allowed to travel on the island is either by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriage and available for rent.
There are plenty of things to do in the island. You enjoy the company of your friends,family and different style of historic place that the island has to offered. In all the places I've been in Michigan this is one of a kind since no one is allowed to used motorized vehicles.

You can dine-in in a budget to fine dine-in if you want. All of the food is in your price range so no need to worry to break a bank for a day. But remember it depends how you taking care of your budget and it all add-up.

- Rent a bicycle to explore the Mackinac island easily with fee.
- Have tour in Fort Mackinac with fee
- Have tour in Butterfly house with fee
- Visit the Arch Rock- no fee
- Don't forget to take a tour on Grand Hotel-with fee.
- Enjoy and relax at Marquette Park, have picnic-no fee.
- Kite flying. If you don't want to bring you can buy there.

Travel Tips on Mackinac Island.
- Bring your own bicycle. As I know there is fee on bringing your own bicycle but still cheaper and comfortable.
- Bring some snacks, there are picnic table there.
- Bring sunscreen.
- Don't forget to stop in the visitor center and grab some free booklet which has coupon you can use around the island.
- Wear comfortable shoes.
- If you have kid's bring your stroller.If you think she can leave without it.During our visit we bring a stroller and it was easy for us.

ReplyDeleteOh my, such a lovely place to unwind. And your pictures added more conviction for me to add this place in my bucket list. I will definitely urge the hubby to consider visiting Michigan on our next US trip and have a day tour there. I certainly would love to see an actual place without any motorized vehicles around. Sure is a big help to Mother Nature by keeping its environment smog free. I hope you'll post more pics sis. I like the one near the lake with the light house. It's so calm. :)
